Professional Fitting Services

There is no simple formula for making you a better, more confident cyclist - if there were, we wouldn't be in business. To reach your ultimate potential, Sundance Cycles is committed to educating our customers, listening to your needs, and most importantly, caring about you and your cycling experience.
Having grown up in the sticks of Maine before the internet when the best info on bicycle fit was written in a foreign language and not available in the United States. I was pretty much on my own when it came to figuring out how to set up my racing bikes. I look back at photos of myself and wonder how I ever finished a race let alone won any! Things have come a long way and after more then twenty years of study, working with many different fitting systems and plenty of hands-on experience, I have combined the principles of several methodologies to come up with a system based in the immutable laws of physics, biomechanical assessment and common sense.
A bike fit that you will be happy with can't happen quickly. Any system wherein you are measured and then the bike is set to parameters based on those measurements simply does not work. This approach might be quick but is fraught with potential error. I normally don't even take bodily measurements in the course of a bike fit. Why would I need them? I have the subject there right in front of me pedaling away and I am able to see and analyze what is happening in a dynamic environment. Discovering what you do while you actually ride and produce a fit that adjusts for you as an individual with a specific riding style and specific goal is of course my goal as a bike fitter.
From fitting you to an existing bike, to designing the perfect custom bike, let Sundance be your partner. PLEASE CALL OR COME BY TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
Fitting Services We Offer
Basic Body Measure - $40
We'll spend a little time talking to you about what you are looking for and how you expect to use the bike, then we'll measure you and provide you with some basic info on what will work best for you. Now you'll have the information to shop with more confidence. A special note here: production bikes come in many different configurations, different companies measure their bikes differently (there is no industry standard here) and there are limited sizes in production frames. We cannot possibly know everything about every bike line out there and ultimately you need to have faith that the people you are dealing with are competent enough to at least figure out if you need a small, medium or large. The folks selling you the bike should have an in-depth understanding of the products they are selling and have your best interests at heart. If they do not, go somewhere else.
Existing Bike Fitting - $150
Optimize your bike to you for improved power, efficiency and comfort. This
is the foundation for our fitting services and nearly 90% of what we do. You will be set up on the Compu-Trainer which will help us analyze your on-bike posture and pedal stroke to better understand your individual fit needs. There will be an interview process, dynamic positioning, posture and spine profile assessment, as well as pedal stroke and knee tracking analysis. Components may be assembled to your bike and positioned correctly as part of achieving an optimal fit. Please be aware that some parts installation may require additional costs and require booking the bike in for this installation. You need to arrive with everything you need to go for a ride. Please remember a water bottle, small towel and your helmet. I know the helmet thing sounds odd but I may want to see it, and no, I won't make you wear it on the trainer.
Size Cycle and Custom Bike Design - $275
We start with much of an Existing Bike Fit to find your optimal position on the size cycle and then design the perfect
frame using Serotta's state of the art design software. We fine-tune your position
when your new bike is ready.
Pedal System Analysis - $70
We use the Fit Kit R.A.D. pedal where appropriate for cleat adjustment and shimming. determined by laser knee tracking.
Aero Positioning
Being aerodynamic is more than just installing a pair of aerobars.
We measure and adjust your position creating optimal balance of power,
aerodynamics, and efficiency.
